Lawsuits Allege Illegal Promotion of Risperdal

In a September 2012 jury trial, former company manager Tone Jones testified about Johnson & Johnson's promotion of Risperdal to child psychiatrists. He testified that the company paid physicians to give favorable speeches, subsidized golf trips, and increased visits to doctors who treat children. According to Jones, these promotional efforts took place as early as 2003. The FDA did not approve Risperdal for use in children, however, until 2006 and 2007.
